Choosing food that suits your pet
No single food is best for every pet. Use these points to compare labels and feeding instructions.

- Check that it is complete food for the right species and life stage.
- Read the energy content and use feeding instructions as a starting point.
- Compare cost per portion, shelf life and packaging.
- Monitor your pet’s wellbeing and body condition; seek advice about symptoms.
Choose complete food suited to the species and life stage. Terms such as ‘premium’ or ‘grain-free’ do not on their own establish suitability. Discuss allergies and other symptoms with your vet.
